POSTS FOR BREAKFAST | 02.02.2016 | Patton Projects

Only one month into 2016 and Mike Patton is living up to his reputation as the most hard working man in music with three musical projects in full swing!

Of course with the release of their debut self titled album the press is in a frenzy. And the trio appear on the front cover of issue 125 February edition of The Skinny. The interview with Patton, Tunde Adebimpe and Adam Drucker can be read here in due course.

The Norwegian composer John Erik Kaada and Patton have announced the release of their new album Bacteria Cult, their last collaboration was 'Romances'  in 2004.
Similar in feel to Fantômas’ Director’s Cut, as Kaada describes it, “dwells in the twilight zone where spooky and seductive meet.”

Mike Patton spoke about the project in a press release.
“Working with John Kaada on this latest release was an honor and pure pleasure. His compositions have always resonated deeply with me and his orchestral arrangements for this project are harmonically dense and delicious! Each individual piece is so well constructed and inventively assembled that my vocal passages practically sang themselves. I’m hoping very much that we can seduce some eardrums and welcome listeners into this lush sonic ‘otherworld.’”
John Kaada
“We wanted to try new things. Fully utilizing new technologies, combined with a large orchestra, while putting more attention towards melody and structure.”

The record cover design is by fellow Norwegian artist and long time Patton collaborator Martin Kvamme.
