Secret Chiefs 3 are back with new music....
As promised in our interview Trey Spruance and co have released a new two track single under the satellite band name UR. The tracks are a cover of The Tornados classic intrumental Telstar and the fantastic 'Mr. Bunglesque' The New Daylight (Welcome to the Theatron Animatronique).
The new music was produced, recorded and conceived by Trey Spruance who performs organs, baritone guitar, bass, electric guitar, celesta, glockenspiel, yamaha D85 organ with synth mod, shaker, tambourine, cabasa, clave, background choir, foley manipulations. With: Jennifer Cass on harp ; Ches Smith on drums ; William Winant on bongo ; Ryan Parrish on flute and kaval ; Matt Lebofsky on piano ; Trevor Parrish on trumpet ; Fernanda Spruance , background choir.
This a SC3 fundraiser, the proceeds from which will go directly towards financing the completion of Book of Souls: Folio B and a full length Holy Vehm album, both on deck for 2017!
WoM
Perhaps naively, we still believe in the motivating force of "the music-itself." By this path SC3 is blessed with listeners from every conceivable dimension who tend to agree with the premise, and we in turn remain unwilling to kickstart or lobby for listener's ‘patreonage.’ Just a personal preference. So in the death-of-physical-sales-department, and with a couple of large-scale you-can-imagine-how-expensive-to-make SC3 releases coming up in 2017 (physical ones, and still stubbornly insisting on equally fleshy musicians to create them), this bandcamp release is our old-school idea of a “fundraiser”: we are offering this full-pedigree SC3 music for $4. In other words, we’re releasing a single & hoping you love it enough to buy it (you can preview listen & see if it motivates you to that end).
Another equal pedigree single/EP package like this will follow in January/February.
