MIKE PATTON will perform 'Forgotten Songs' with Uri Caine in Italy

Before Mike Patton embarks on a European tour with Dead Cross this summer, he will be performing two nights in his second home of Italy with pianist Uri Caine.

The duo will perform an absolute first Forgotten Songs as part of the Angelica festival at Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in Modena, Bologna on May 25th and 26th.

Presented by L'altro suono, the unprecedented collaboration will feature various traditional songs and orignal music by Patton and Caine, with orignal arrangements by the duo.

"The show will be a concentrate of the qualities of the two protagonists with the research and reworking of forgotten songs in which, in all likelihood, the frame will have jazz reflexes."

It has been commissioned by Angelica, the Teatro Comunale di Modena Foundation - the L'altro suono Festival; with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region - Department of Culture, Municipality of Bologna.

In 2007 it was Angelica and the L'altro suono, together with the Teatro Rossini Foundation in Lugo and the City of Salsomaggiore Terme, who gave life to Patton's Mondo Cane project. The success was such that in 2008 Mondo Cane was also presented in Bologna, Piazza Santo Stefano, and then began a world tour.

Patton and Caine performed together in 2011 at a benefit concert organised by John Zorn following the sunami in Japan.
